Introducing “CAMPAIN”
A subscriber asked why I had not written any blogs recently. Well, I have been setting up an organisation to take forward the ideas developed in this blogsite. It is called the Campaign against Misrepresentation in Public Affairs, Information and the News (CAMPAIN). We are six founder members and are already gathering support.
We reach out to people of all political persuasions, and are not beholden to any party or tendency. Rather than fight every battle we shall focus on the worst cases of misinformation and misrepresentation, things upon which any reasonable person can agree. We want to build a united and broad-based platform among British people.
Please take a good look at our website www.campain.org including our first clutch of articles/blogs, provide your feedback and consider joining us. You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter.
We shall support existing bodies with similar aims. For example, our latest blog encourges you to sign up for an unmissable event focusing on the role of the Guardian newspaper. The organiser is the Goldsmiths Leverhulme Media Research Centre, that seeks to promote better journalism in the UK.
If you have something a blog you would like to publish and that fits our mission, please send it to me at admin@campain.org.
Best wishes, Jonathan Coulter, 14 April 2021
